Cheddar Gorge

At 400 feet deep, Cheddar Gorge is Great Britain’s answer to the Grand Canyon, Arizona. Limestone cliffs and deep caves were formed by the act of running water underground over millions of years creating the incredible rock formations we see today.

Just south east of the gorge is the village of Cheddar. Home of the process of which Cheddar cheese originated. Literally “gorge” yourself on locally produced cheese and cider at the pubs, shops and cafés after the hike for a perfect end to the day.
