Watch the backpack review
Whether you like an epic trek to a mountain summit or a winding walk through a secluded forest, my mission is to show you that the best way to discover the world is on foot.
Futura 32 litre backpack
For such a good price, this backpack by Deuter offers everything a beginner hiker needs at a competitive price. I’ve been on a 48 hour hike with this pack and was able to get by with a pretty limited amount of space. I love that it comes with a rain cover as standard as well.
It’s an awkward shape. This pack has a frame (single wire) and a hip belt but also, they’ve curved the contour of the back to leave an air gap. This makes for a lot less space compared to the size of the pack and they haven’t maximised the space in this design. The side pockets are unreachable if the pack is on you and the hip belt pocket can barely fit a chapstick in.
